NSW: Community will discuss restricting young drivers:Carr
New South Wales Premier BOB CARR has pledged to have a wide-ranging community discussion
over proposed restrictions for young drivers.
Roads Minister CARL SCULLY has suggested a night-time curfew for drivers aged under
21, forcing them off the roads between 10pm and 6am.
Mr CARR says he'll look at the practicality of such a plan, which may need to contain
exemptions for shift workers and those living in regional areas.
He's told Sydney radio 2GB he's asking the community to bear with the government while
it assembles options.
He's promised a thorough community discussion about those options.
