FED: Govt must release Ralph report, says oppn

Opposition Leader KIM BEAZLEY says the federal government should immediately release the
Ralph report on business taxation.

Mr BEAZLEY says the government has held the report for some time and should make it public.

His comments follow reports that Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD and Treasurer PETER COSTELLO
have reached agreement on a new business tax deal.

The Australian newspaper says the deal centres on a 30 per cent company tax rate.

Mr BEAZLEY says speculation on a 30 per cent rate without actually seeing the content of
what achieves it is frankly idle.

He says that's why people need to see the Ralph document as a whole.
