Fed: Howard tells MPs he can win the election

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says the coalition has a real chance of victory at the coming
election.

But the prime minister has pleaded for coalition MPs and Senators to remain united
and disciplined as the election nears.

Addressing a meeting of coalition MPs and Senators, Mr HOWARD said there is no doubt
the coalition's electoral standing has improved in recent months.

He says the coalition is well and truly back in the game.

However, he says the coalition is still behind the ALP at this stage in the electoral
cycle, highlighting the importance for the Liberal and National Parties to have cohesion
and internal discipline.
