Fed: Book outlines formula for successfultowns
Local leadership, community unity and lateral thinking are the essential ingredientsof successful regional communities, according to the authors of a book to be launchedtoday.
Former deputy prime minister TIM FISCHER has teamed with his biographer PETER REESto write "Outback Heroes and Communities that Count" to be launched at the BeechworthBakery in rural Victoria.
Mr FISCHER says Beechworth is a regional success story and it shares the winning formulawith other go-ahead communities in the bush.
The book examines 14 communities and analyses why they are successful when other townsin similar circumstances are not.
