NSW: Pair fighting for lives in hospital after shopping centre shooting

SYDNEY, April 1 AAP - A man and woman are fighting for their lives in hospital after
being shot in a shopping centre carpark in Sydney's west.

Ambulance officers were called to the Fairfield Forum shopping centre in Cunningham
Street, Fairfield, about 3.45pm (AEDT) today, an ambulance spokesman said.

The female and male, both believed to be aged in their 30s, were treated at the scene
and then taken to Liverpool hospital with gunshot wounds.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said the pair were in a "very critical" condition.

The shooting is not believed to be linked to other shootings that have taken place
recently in western Sydney.
